Enhancements

Multi-tenant

Overview

When installed in multi-tenant mode, the Go Connect for Panasonic server can be configured to contain partitions or tenants that are each dedicated to a single end customer.

What is a Tenant?

In the context of a Go Connect installation, a Tenant would be a single end user customer, with one of more sites each using Go Connect for Panasonic client software.

Why Install a Multi-tenant Server

Since the introduction of the NS range of telephone systems, there is an increasing demand for hosted deployments, where a single telephone system is shared across multiple end customers. Installing the Go Connect Server in multi-tenant mode allows a single Go Connect Server and its associated licenses to be shared across multiple end customers, reducing hardware and software costs.

Architecture

Multitenant architecture

Licensing

The multi-tenant capability is contained within the normal Go Connect Server, i.e. there is no additional software to download. The multi-tenant functionality is enabled simply by loading a tenant license on the server in the same way any other license is loaded. Client connections consume licenses from a single pool of licenses in the normal way except an additional setting restricts each tenant to a maximum number of each licenses type.

To set up a multi-tenant server, one of the two starter packs available must initially be purchased. Individual tenant licenses can only be purchased once a starter pack has been purchased and installed. All other Go Connect licenses can be purchased and added in the normal manner.

Security

The Go Connect multi-tenant server is designed so that users within one tenant are completely separated from users configured in other tenants.

Other Configurations

The Go Connect Server also has the flexibility to work with multiple single tenant telephone systems and / or handsets supporting uaCSTA.

Using uaCSTA Handsets as the PBX Type

As shown above the Go Connect Server would typically connect to the telephone system (e.g. NS1000) using CSTA. The Go Connect Server also supports a mode known as uaCSTA where, instead of connecting to the telephone system, the handsets register with the Go Connect Server directly. In this mode the solution can be deployed regardless of the telephone system type as long as the handsets deployed support uaCSTA such as the Panasonic KX-HDV series.
